We are looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager to join our Communications team.  

This role involves preparing and publishing content via the DVAA & GEA network.  We are specifically looking for individuals with experience with platforms such as Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and Tiktok.  

The successful applicant will be familiar and have at least some experience with managing a professional social media account. 

The applicant should be familiar with the theme of DVAA and willing to adhere to the DVAA guiding documents.

We are looking for someone to join our research team.  This is a very basic role and requires basic professional skills.  The role involves assessing news reports regarding domestic violence homicides throughout Australia. 

This role requires a commitment of between 1 to 2 hours per week.

We are looking for a supervisor to join our research team.  This role requires someone with a degree in psychology or other soc-sci degree.  It requires someone with a strong understanding of statistics and assessing qualitative data.

The supervisor will assess data presented by junior members before inclusion in the database.  

This role requires a commitment of between 1 to 2 hours per week.

We are looking for a volunteer journalist to join our writers team.  

This role involves researching, investigating and in some cases interviewing to prepare an article for publication via the DVAA & GEA network. 

The successful applicant will be a dedicated writer, committed to crafting honest, unbiased, well researched, accurately referenced and cited articles.  The applicant should be familiar with the theme of DVAA and willing to adhere to the DVAA guiding documents.

We are looking for an experienced Blogger to join our Communications team.  

This role involves blogging information, articles, videos and other data collated by our Researchers.  

The successful applicant will be experienced with blogging using the WordPress framework.  The applicant should be familiar with the theme of DVAA and willing to adhere to the DVAA guiding documents.  The applicant will need to be competent with the legal implications of publishing controversial data.  We have a small legal team which can assist with vetting details and mitigating risk prior to publication.  The successful applicant will need to be willing to work patiently and harmoniously with the other volunteers.

Are you legally intelligent?  Are you a practising lawyer who believes in the work of DVAA?

We are looking to develop our legal team to work toward several objectives.  

  1. Advice regarding structure, internal & external communication and other matters pertaining to operations.
  2. Our staff and volunteers are often subject to attacks in person by acts of violence also, and more commonly, potentially libellous and defamatory attacks on individuals and organisations associated with the work of DVAA.  We are looking to legally address antisocial, criminal and other unnecessary and unlawful activity against our work.
  3. Complimentary pro bono or, in some cases, standard referrals, to a competent law firm who respects all individuals regardless of their gender. 
  4. Academics with a legal focus with a PhD, or more advanced, in Laws, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or similar, who is interested in assisting with formal submissions to government and/or writing articles on these topics, inline with DVAA’s values and mission, for publication via our network.
