DVAA MISSION & VISION

OUR MISSION

The mission of DVAA is to raise awareness of all the facts, based on evidence based data, regarding domestic violence in Australia.

  1. Our information is, as best as possible, gender neutral and not biased toward excluding or emphasising the perpetration or victimisation of either sex
  2. To provide accurate data regarding domestic violence homicides and make this easily publicly available.

OUR VISION

The vision of DVAA is to be known in Australia as a reliable source of information, statistics and other resources regarding domestic violence.

Ultimately, we hope to contribute to decreasing all forms of domestic violence, by both women and men, in Australia.

It is our vision to see resources and support available, equitably distributed to both male and female victims of domestic violence.

DVAA VALUES

1. Equality

We believe in genuine gender equality.  This means applying the best approximation of equality of opportunity, privileges, benefits, accountability, responsibility and consequences.  We believe all men and women hold the same value as a human.  This includes men and women of every race, culture, religion, nationality, sexuality and skin colour.  We believe your immutable traits should not impact your ability to receive equality.  We oppose feminism, marxism and fascism because we believe in equality.

2. Nonviolence

We oppose violence regardless of gender, race or religion.  We understand minimal defensive violence is appropriate in some specific situations.  Defence should never be used as an excuse to deceitfully commit violence.

3. Data

We value data and referring to it to inform ourselves as individuals and in making public assertions.  Any truth claim should always be substantiated with a reference to at least one source of independent data.

4. Privacy

Privacy is vitally important while volunteering with DVAA.  We must protect other volunteers by keeping their identity a secret from the public.

DVAA CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Compliance with the law

We believe in the legal process and adhering to the law of the land.
